Iowa State University and the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of the United States Department of Agriculture are seeking a postdoctoral scholar to study alterations at the microbe and animal level following application of various intervention strategies in the animal. The position is offered through a collaboration between the Food Safety and Enteric Pathogens Research Unit in the ARS-National Animal Disease Center (NADC) and Andrew Severin, manager of the Genome Informatics Facility at Iowa State, providing the chosen candidate with opportunities in both systems biology and bioinformatics. Salary will be commensurate with experience ($41,000-$55,000/year). The term of appointment is one year with potential for extension to a second year based on performance. Two new Associate Scientists have joined the Genome Informatics facility. Both started full time in the facility on February 1st, 2016. We are very excited to have more staff in the facility. There is an incredible need for bioinformatics support staff for data analysis and collaborative grant writing and with these individuals we can start to fill that need.
